Once Upon A Time

By Chris

So, i’ve decided to become a Personal Trainer and Blog my journey. For the past 6 and a half years I have worked behind a desk (more about me) but now its time for a change.

Why Personal Training? Well I have been a member of a gym(s) for 5 years, and although the first 4 years were pretty much a waste of time and money, in this past year I have become more dedicated to getting the body I desire and have really enjoyed working for it. Although its no way near what I want it to look like, but non the less, I enjoy working out and eating right. I enjoy it so much, why not make a career out of it? Flexible Hours, going to work in trainers, meeting new people and helping other people reach there goals all seem like awesome benefits to a job. And at the same time, I get to learn the skills I need to help me achieve my goal.

How to become a Personal Trainer? Well after initially getting the idea back in January, I looked around the net and found a couple of training centres which offer a course in Personal Trainer. Premier Global was one, which sounded familiar, I had also heard a Radio advert in my car for Premier with Ross Kemp telling me to become a Personal Trainer. Another company I come across was Future Fit, a well designed website with plenty of testimonials from Celebs and Athletes although prices were similar to Premier for some reason I decided I liked this site better than the Premier site. So I ordered a prospectus with Future Fit, had a flick through and considered my options. After a couple of days I received a friendly call for a member from Future Fit asking if he could assist with anything and to give him a call if I needed any help. I wasn’t in the mood to be harassed constantly telling me to sign up etc (which was the wrong mindset, as the guy who rang didn’t pressure me or keep on at me, totally professional) so I told the guy I probably wont do anything till the summer.

I put the Prospectus in the draw and forgot about it.

After returning from Holiday on Friday (15/05/09) I had a voicemail on my phone from the guy and I instantly deleted it. Over the weekend I got thinking about my life and where its going and what I want out of it, and the benefits of becoming a Personal Trainer sounded right up my street. So I gave Future Fit a call and signed up for the Diploma in Personal Training.

And now begins my journey on how I will become a Personal Trainer….

  1. I’ve already seen hundreds of blogs and all of them contain similar complicated information which is too difficult to understand. Your artcile helped me find the point in it and that’s what I actually do appreciate. Thank you!
